Update from Bob in the Forest

I know many of you have been missing Bob (as I have). I found his number and called him this morning. He is doing okay, but is without internet. He revised his service to DSL with AT&T and, in addition to charging him more than the advertised price, they are also wanting to add on fees for hooking up the service, "conditioning the line," etc. Until he gets this all squared away he is without internet. I'm hoping he'll get it resolved soon, but he seems to get stuck in the automated attendant loop or on terminal hold when he tries to do anything about it. His Little Buddy needed to be put down this winter, his knee is still bothering him, and his doctor is not being very good about pain meds, so, he is, at times, not feeling great. Considering the amount of fusion Bob has had, I cannot believe a doctor would be so cavalier about pain meds. At any rate, Bob misses you all too and we'll hear from him as soon as he is re-connected. He says he's still taking lots of pictures, so when he's back, we'll have a lot to look forward to.

Tony - Bob sends his best and hopes you'll get stronger every day. He agrees it's a really long haul, and not easy at all. Hang in there!

Bob

So happy that you contacted Bob because I was concerned and missed hearing how he was getting on and his wonderful experiences with his furry family.

I hope he gets his internet sorted out soon.

I know

what you mean Tony. I was absolutely astounded by the number of levels Bob had fused and also had to have the the spine stabilized to his hips. He's a lot taller now than he used to be. Not only did he do his recovery alone for the most part, but he still cares for all of his wonderful woodland buddies, carrying big sacks of feed and cat food around for them. I think Bob would be very happy to be back here with folks to talk with. I think no internet has not only diminished his social life, but it's interrupting his research. He's very active in many scientific pursuits, and I know he'll feel better when he's back on line.

Pneumonia

Bob called a few nights ago. He's been down with a bout of pneumonia. He's sounding a bit better and has almost resolved his issues with his DSL woes. Also thinks he has a good offer on another DSL service, so hopefully, he'll be back here with us soon. I've let him know that many of you have asked about him. He's been taking lots of pictures of the critters, so I can't wait to see his blog when he's up and running again.

Get well Bob

Thanks Linda for letting us know about Bob. Hope he recovers very soon.

Bob is an inspiration to me in that he copes with constant pain but makes sure his furry friends are looked after so well.

I have to tell you

that Bob has also been an inspiration for me. I was so depressed and in so much pain after surgery, and when I saw the condition of his spine I was just appalled and felt like I was the biggest baby on the planet. Then, when he had his surgery and I saw the extent of the hardware in his spine and all he was doing every day, I could hardly believe it. Also, I have to tell you that I envy him his critters. Were it not for pain and limited income, he'd be livin' the high life in his little oasis for sure!

Wishing you well Bob!

Hope that you are feeling back to yourself soon. Thank you so much for the update Isteller.

Bob is a real inspiration. When I feel down about my own situation, I think about Bob's attitude and all that he has been through. As I am recovering now from my own surgery, I think I will go back and read Bob's posts.

Look forward to having you back Bob!

Big Hug Karen
