bulging disc in lower back

In October of 2011 I had a right sided stroke (affected my left side) and in my therapy and recovery I kept having this horrible pain in lower back on my right side into my hip and thigh, also some bladder incontinence, which they attributed to my stroke, finally they did an MRI because of it hindering my recovery so bad, and I have a bulging disc on the lower right side, prior to that, in May of 2010 I had a ulnar tunnel release done on my left arm which I never recovered, the pain was worse after the surgery than before, I ended up going to a different dr who did a MRI of my neck and determined that I had inflammation between a couple of disc's in my neck, needless to say I have been in chronic pain for over 2 years now, but my question is...could it be possible that my issue wasn't my ulnar nerve, but it all has been related to the spine injuries and that is why I never got relief from the ulnar release surgery and instead it made it worse? Has anyone else had any kind of issue like this and if so how did it get resolved? I am tired of living like an invalid, I am in my mid 40's and always had somewhat of a active life and now I am in so much pain all the time, I feel like I am going crazy.

Well...

All I can say is I wish I did my surgery much earlier. I still have some discomfort but much of that is because I sit on my ass most of the day driving and working. Do your research, know your body, prepare physically and mentally and find the best surgeon available and what that equals is.........success!

similar symptoms

About 10 years ago, I had horrible pain in my L elbow especially when I rested it on a table or chair arm and put my head in that hand. The doc ended up "splitting the tendon" of my elbow but I still have lots of sensitivity there. I also had numbness in the knife edge of my L elbow. The procedure helped but...I'm not convinced that my pain and discomfort isn't from nerve compression in my cervical region. I would try to find a good neuro surgeon instead of an ortho because my personal opinion is the neuro is usually a bit better prepared for the nerve issues. Again, that is my personal opinion and probably has no factual basis. But, we need to go with what makes us comfortable or gives us confidence.Regardless, I hope you find some answers soon. Jerome
