Gout in Sacroiliac Joint or Hip?

Ok, so I just wanted to know if anyone diagnosed with gout has had problems with gout in there sacroiliac joint or anywhere in the hip area...

Here's the deal. I'm 29 and had my first gout attack in my big toe about 8 months ago. Since then I've had 5 attacks in my toe that have gotten progressively worse with the last one lasting 7 days and not responsive to meds.

Well about 4 months ago I also had a sudden onset of extreme back spasms and pain in my lower back that lasted for a couple 2-3 days and then completely went away for 2 weeks. Since then I've intermittent incapcitating back spasms and pain that seems to come and go for no apparent reason. I've had an MRI, Cat scan, and x-rays with nothing apparent in any of them except a slightly bulged disc L4-L5 that could be causing the pain, but in the opinion of the 3 doctors I consulted they all agreed its unlikely my symptoms are being caused by the disc.

The spasms haven't been so severe over the last couple weeks and its turned into a more constant pain in my spine (where it connects at the hips) and pain that radiates to the outward edges of my hips and into my butt.

I just started Allupurinol 3 days ago and am hoping to kill 2 birds with one stone. Anyone who has had experience with this I would live to hear your story and symptoms. Also, how long did it take Allopurinol to start working? I heard it could take up to 2 months to become effective.

As of right now, I'm just going to wait out the pain another couple of months. The docs tell me the next step would be diagnostic epidural injections but they say it could be a number of different things causing the pain so I'm not all that thrilled about that... so wait and see I guess..

Any thoughts ideas?
Thanks!
Nick
