hip pain and nerves that feel like they're on fire

My hip parts of my back are so irritated. Ever since last Thursday at the chiropractor when they did stem on my hip I felt a sharp stab in my hip and my nerves have since been so upset. I feel like my foot is going to give out on me. Has anyone else had strange symptoms like this from stem? Maybe they are just being too rough with me. Its so frustrating because I want it to help but when do I just throw in the towel with this kind of therapy. ? I can hardly function for days after my appt. And im feeling lots of burning and stinging sensation. It is so unbearable Any advice?

My lumbar are different levels. I will say or suggest is the better term, this.... Can you get with an Orthopedist or Neurologist that is spine specialty trained to give you a good exam and possible diagnostics? Don't get me wrong, chiropractors are wonderful, but not so if you have spine issues such as disk and such. What you're describing might warrant further inquiry to see what is going on. Just my thoughts... Smile Sorry you're hurting as you are... *HUG*

be careful

i would be really careful when dealing with your back and a chiro! ~X( there are so many nerves and discs in our back that can be injured by a chiro that it is often not the best treatment... please get a picture if you can and see a "regular" doctor.. good luck to you and i hope you are feeling better soon! get scans

find a really good gp and have scans.
i have had bad exp. with both physio and chiro. all because they missed my spondy. nice. my hips used to be on fire, thats because i have muscles that arent good. sometimes hips rotate out if your ilium or scarum is out. i have a new mantra dont go back to see anyone who hurts you or fails to listen. to fix my silly hip i get at right angles and push really hard against a wall lying down. thats cause mine over rotates. i dont know if it helps you. i found a new physio with both normal physio batchelor and musculoskeleto qals. she is the only one that touches me. pool also fixs me but i need to be lined up first. hope you get out of pain soon. forgive the spelling.

Hi Jessica

I have to agree with the above - chiropractors definitely can help many people, but those with spine problems, especially after spine surgery, should be very careful with any type of chiropractic manipulation.

It might be worth going back to your doc for a checkup and maybe seeing if PT would be a better fit than chiro treatment, one that understands the spine and the surgery w/instrumentation that you had.

Take care and keep us posted.

Thanks for the advice. I called my neurosurgeon today and they can get me in in a week. This chiropractic I went to is specialized in spinal rehab. Its actually the name of the place. He hasn't been doing manipulations..just stretches ..massage..laser...and stem.I just think they have done way too much. Its hard with the sI. Dysfunction Because I know it so.ewhat needs to be manipulated.. but I kind of want to try injections instead. Tuesday just can't come soon enough!

Hi, i think what your meaning is the Tens Unit.

As far as a chiro, i agree with everyone else, stay away.
Thru out the years i've been sent to a chiro 2 times, and they put me in unbelievable pain, and i got up and walked out on them, and told them i refuse to come back.
So glad you are getting in to see a NS.

I have burning pain as well

This particular pain is in my left leg and foot. They always have pain but from time to time, thats several times a week, they hurt so bad they burn. I'm not sure of course what your situation is, but I know that mine is nerve damage from L4 to S1. The nerve roots are damaged. It sounds to me like at a min you have pinched nerves but seeing a neuro is a great idea, that is who discovered what my issues were and attempted to fix them for me. Good luck, I hope that you get to feeling better soon and that they find a way to help you.
