'never ending back pain!!!

Hi all,

I'm always looking for helpful tips to relive my chronic lower back pain. I've been seeing a chiropractor monthly and taking pain killers that make me feel really loopy, the bills are really starting to add up and I would love any suggestions that would make things a bit easier for me without hard prescription drugs, that leave me unable or too tired to play with my two small children, or expensive doctors visits. I was diagnosed with scoliosis as a child have been dealing with this pain since I can remember, especially after having two kids, and although I did, surprisingly, recently purchase a laser treatment device online that has actually been really helpful, so-far, but its always nice to know that someone else feels my pain, so to speak, so we can exchange tips.

Thanks!!

Hi Nicola, Welcome to Spine

Hi Nicola, Welcome to Spine Health. I have more neck, head, jaw pain than I do back pain. I take pain meds as well. What aids in my relief that aren't meds is I ice for a while than take a hot shower. That tends to add some relief. Also I take the spice Tumeric in capsules. You can buy Tumeric at a health food store. I make my own because it's alot cheaper. I buy in bulk on line. That helps when I have alot of inflammation.

I hope this helps. I'm seeing a NUCCA Chiro which is a Non traditional Chiro. If you'd like to chat more and share Chiro experiences feel free to PM me. I'd like to hear more about your treatment.

Nicola,

many people are looking for ways to manage their pain and discomfort without having to depend on narcotic medications.
We have an entire forum category Alternative Treatments that is a good starting point for you to read.

Having to deal with chemical solutions, so many are looking at more natural ways to manage pain. Centuries ago, we didn't have those chemicals to get rid of pain. There were so many more natural ways.

Many times, it does mean opening up your mind to the different ways of treating pain.

Eastern medicine has so much to offer. When we can combine this with our Western methods, its amazing to see the results.

I have been a big fan of Aroma and Music therapy I have a set of many different essential oils. There are so many options available.

hey there

ive been dealing with back pain since I was pregnant with my daughter and that was 3 years ago. im always trying to find new things to take instead of painkillers. and I was on different ones for about 8 months..and it took that long to figure out what was wrong with me.. turned out it was a ruptured disc and nerve damage to my legs from my pregnancy.and they all thought it may have been gastrointestinal ob problems and the list went on. so I finally found a great pain management dr that has been a lot of help. he put me on nerotin which helps by dimming the pain censors where the pain is coming from. its used for a lot of different things. but it also helps you sleep at night. not a dead sleep but more of a natural sleep. anyways if you would like ask your dr about it.:-)
