Ready just to give up....

So, a new symptoms started yesterday... tingling..

In my butt and feet (both sides).

The pain was first limited to the lower back (sacral area) and right hip/inguinal area).

Now I noticed it is mainly when I'm sitting...

I am scheduled for yet another MRI today (pelvis).
I called my spine specialist yesterday, spoke with the nurse, letting her know how scared I am... Asking her that, since my symptoms are primarily when I sit, will a "laying down" MRI show anything (my initial L/S spine MRI was normal).

She showed no care that I was afraid (I made this call on the side of the road in my car - my job is a travelling nurse).

She said that there is no such thing as a sitting MRI..
\
And, lastly, she said, "we just may never find a cause".

WOW!!! What a great caregiver...

I don't know what else to do... I'm at such a loss that I am ready to just lay in the bed and give up (I'm 42).

Is this what healthcare is all about (an industry that I work in) Sad

Good luck..

..with your MRI today. Let us know how it goes.

Hope a kinder group of people guide you throught that.

People in all professions have a variety of "people skills" but you are right, it's esp disappointing when we are depending on caregivers when we are vulnerable.

Sometimes it does take a long time to figure out what is causing what. I'm happy if doc takes symptoms seriously and get me as painfree as possible.

Seems like your doc cares and order test and is trying.

Hang in there and it's good you come here to vent!Whatever you need...we here 24/7! Smile

Let us know how you're doing!

sitting MRI

Hmmm, interesting comment about the MRI! I had an open MRI last year. I had to sit inside a very small area that was very tight to fit into. I do forget sometimes but I'm rather positive that I was indeed sitting! LOL. Not making fun of you but where do some of these "professionals" come from? My MRI was an "open" MRI which I think is usually for people with claustraphobia (SP?). You can certainly ask for an open MRI. Best of luck to you! Jerome
