tailbone pain when sitting and standing

I feel sharp pain at the onset of sitting or standing up and sometimes when changing my posture while sitting at the tailbone area. I am in my late 20s. when i touch the area it hurts as well. i have had this pain for several weeks and it is not getting better.

i sit on my chair for long hours (my job requires it). I would really appreciate any comments.

Hi Pemir

Welcome to SH but sorry for your pain. I also suffer from tailbone pain, have been diagnosed with coccydynia. And was going to have my tailbone removed a few months ago.

Have you been to see your physician or specialist for your pain, or had any testing done? Sitting is the worst position for me, and standing after sitting causes an incredibly sharp pain.

Do you have a donut type cushion to sit on? This helped me a bit,but then increased my lumbar pain. My doctors thought that my coccyx pain would hopefully get better after my adr 2 months ago...not yet. Do you have lumbar problems?
Try to get up and stretch/walk around often at work, and if you haven't talked to your doctor yet, I would.

Wishing you all the best!
