Hi, my name is roger, on August 31 2007 I had a Cervical fusion starting at C2 to C7 originally, resulting from spinal stenosis and a broken neck from work injury. while recovering I contracted MRSA in the bones which destroyed the fusion and surrounding tissue. On March 13th 2008, they went back in and anchored to T5 fusing C2 to C7, since then I have been experiencing the worst pain of my life in the muscles of the back of the neck to the back of my skull into my shoulder blades. It literally feels like someone is stabbing me with a knife in the neck at the base of my skull. The problem is I had to lie to my Doctors about this pain so I could get released back to work. I am not really sure what to do. I have to work to survive Disibility payments suck! but I am also scared that I may be causing more damage by working. Has anyone experienced this type of pain in the neck before? and what should I do? The pain is so severe that I have to lay down at times to relieve it to some extent.
