I am one year post-op from anterior cervical fusion surgery. My fusion covered discs c5-c7. I have constant painful muscle spasms in my neck, face, shoulder area and severe headaches. My surgeon keeps insisting this will go away, and that this is only occurring because my body is accustomed to being in pain. I have tried cervical epidural injections, trigger point injections, physical therapy, and an assortment of narcotic pain medications used long with muscle relaxers. I have been prescribed Percocet, vicodin, flexeril, robaxin, diazepam, skelaxin...etc!! None of these therapies have worked. Has anyone else had a similar experience? If so, do you have any suggestions for pain relief?
