I'm having problems dealing with my pain & every thing else.
I had a discectomy & fusion done about a year & 1/2 ago on c5- c6.
After about 6 months I was feeling pretty good I got rid of my pain, & for 9 months or so I felt normal.
In late October I fell forward quite hard (14 stitches in my head), a week or so later the pain started to come back. I saw my surgion, he ordered an MRI with and without contrast, it showed the decompression of my spinal cord was incomplete @ c5-c6 & c6-c7 was ruptured & beginning to cause compression, the decision was to wait for a couple months to see if it would get better or continue to worsen.
A few weeks ago another MRI, this time it showed the previous problems were getting worse and c7-t1 was rupturing. He plans to do a posterior lamenectomy with possible diskectomy & fusion @ c6-7 & c7-t1 in the next few weeks, as soon as he can a range every thing.
Right now I can barely function, I'm in constant pain pretty much my entire body, I can't take advil or tylonol any more, my stomach can't tolerate them, pretty much dilodid & flexaril is all I can take. I'm just feeling broken & getting worse every day.
So sorry for all you are going through and your pain.
It is so additionally frustrating when your meds are giving you unacceptable side effects.
Glad you are here! Very supportive and kind group here :)Not to mention some of the info that may interest you re' the spine and pain management..or just to help take your mind off things for awhile.
I am not a canidate for surgery...but I wish you all the best for your surgery in a couple of weeks.
Hope your pain management doc continues to work towards getting you to a lower level of pain.
