Foot...cold...wet..??

Hi All. Hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas. I have been having a problem in my left foot. Lately it feels like it is soaking wet and very very cold. I always touch it with my hand as I am so sure that it is soaked...but it is dry. Is this caused by the sciatic nerve? Has anyone else experienced this?
thanks! Hug Karen

yes

I had the wet / cold foot thing going on. I had to touch my socks also as the sensation was so real. I used to get mad at myself for checking, because I knew there was no way my sock could be that wet. MRIs showed my nerves being squished. The right side looked worse than the left, but the left side bothered me more than the right. It has not come back since my surgery.

Both of my feet are always

Both of my feet are always cold, not my hands, just my feet. I have no idea why. Even in the heat of the summer.

lol, for some reason i

lol, for some reason i thought this was funny. the reason i say this is because - yes - i have experienced this, and still am. it feels like i have water squishing up through my toes (and sock) as i walk. it's an odd feeling and i have checked my socks out many times and 99.9% out of 100 my feet are dry.

squishes

That is the exact feeling I have BabyRuth, feels like I have stepped in a cold puddle and the water is squishing through my toes. Looks like your problem areas are the same as mine L4/5 L5/S1 . FactoryRat Did you have surgery on your lower lumbar area as well? Glad that yours stopped after surgery, sorry that yours haven't BabyRuth.
I'm the same...I touch my socks every time, knowing that they are going to feel dry and warm on my hands to touch, but touch them regardless lol.
Looks like this is a complication of nerve damage, like numbness and tingling that may or may not go away with surgery?
Thanks Karen

yes, especially

yes, especially this time of year (winter). The wet sensation has gone away some but the cold is crazy. I have to feel my foot b/c I could swear it's frozen. Oddly, it is cold but not as cold as I would think...it's almost as if the 'inner layer' is cold.

Yes Ouch

I have to wear socks slippers all the time because of the cold wet feeling. One time I touched my foot it was wet! My gel cushion ripped underneath me oh what a mess!

Wet

Not feet for me, but thighs and hips. I have not had lumbar surgery yet, but in certain positions, I get this "warm wet" feeling on the front of my thighs. It is something with the nerve reaction, but not fully in understanding of "what" is directly causing it. No, you are not abnormal!! (G) I get the feeling that I "spilled" something warm on my thighs!

Are they cold to the touch

Are they cold to the touch or just feel cold on the inside?

Hi Sassy411

My hands and feet are generally cold to the touch (I have raynauds phenomenon), but this is different. When I touch the foot it feels the same as my other (just cool )to my fingers. This feeling is inside I guess. It feels like my foot is incased in an ice block which has partially melted ( wet feeling ). It isn't a feeling that I have all the time, but comes and goes. Do you get this?
Thanks!
