Hello everyone, Lynn here. I am back to work this week. Started Monday with limitations of no lifting more than 10 pounds, no pushing of pulling. Dr said to be sensitive to straining my neck & shoulder muscles, give it time to heal because most who try to do too much & not follow Dr's orders are usually the ones who end up damaging the disc aboe or below the fusion, or possible the screws that hold the plate in place. So...... I am trying very hard to follow his orders but am feeling guilty that I am not pulling my weight at work..... Trying to get over myself:)
I am putting in 11-12 hour days trying to learn my new store( I was promoted & am relocating/living in a hotel for now) Am having a problem with pain mgmt & some swelling in the area where the fusion is. Anyone think that's the norm or should I call my Dr on the swelling & pain?
Thx, Lynn
L

Lynn,
First let me say congrats on getting back to work. Big steps on that part. I would suspect your body is adjusting to the long hours you are putting in. But it would never hurt to put a call into the doctor. It is possible some trigger points could help you or some message therapy. Don't forget to use some ice at the end of those long days or if you have time during the day to cut some of the inflammation down.
Keep us posted on how well you do. Sounds like your moving in the right direction, though.
