POst surgery pain question

I am 8 weeks post op, discetomy, far lateral herniation, L3/L4. Surgery successfully elmininated severe and dabilitating hip pain. However, I have strong ache in multiple spots throughout my thigh that has not gone away. It's as tender in spots as a severe bruise. Also, I have severe weakness in thigh and through knee.

Any idea how long this will last? is this normal?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

When I went for my 6 week

When I went for my 6 week checkup after my microdiscectomy, I was still having leg pain and numbness. My surgeon said that sometimes the nerve takes some time to heal. As I was still walking with a cane at that point, he did another epidural injection which did improve my leg symptoms, but unfortunately in my case did not completely resolve my problems
