Started prednisone today...how long til it works?

Hi All,

I am on a 6 day regimen of prednisone, 6 tablets today, 5 tomorrow and so on. When should I expect the pain to go away? The pharmacist said it would be immediate but no change yet. Thanks, Ann

Wow

I am surprised that the pharmacist said that. The prednisone stays in your system for a long time after you stop taking it. I think that it usually took me a week or 2 before I saw any improvement at all. I know that it took more than a few days. I hope that you do get some relief but I think that it will require some patience.

I agree, it will take a few days. I just finished my course as well
