Can Sleep Deprivation cause vague aches and pains?

Off and on for a year now, I'll get body aches, maybe my ears will hurt, slightly stuffy nose, sometimes a slight sore throat, and a constant forehead headache. Most of the time it only last for three or four days and doesn't go through the normal "Cold" or "Flu" like symptoms or cycle.

I just started a new semester almost two months ago. I've been going to bed at 11 or 12 and twice a week waking up at 6:30 am to go to school. I've always needed a bit more sleep than most. However I can't seem to get in bed by 9 , whether it is because of waiting for medications to be taken or some show on tv to watch.
I don't really have a hard time sleeping...However I wake up once or twice on the times I have to get up early ...Like I'll get up at 3 or 5, but I'll go back to bed, and it is hard to drag myself out.

Can sleep deprivation or fatigue from depression, chronic pain, medications that make you sleepy , create vague cold like symptoms? Anyone experience this?

According to an MRI in 2008 I had 2mm and 3mm herniations at C5/C6 and C6/ C7. Both having mild to slight central stenosis. Disc desiccation without protrusion at T1-2.
On my Xray from 2008 it said: Very minimal hypertrophic uncovertebral joints at C5-C6. Minimal osteophyte formations and foraminal impingement at C5/C6.

btw

And all the aches and pains really kick in towards the end of the day. Sometimes Tylenol with codiene will help, sometimes not. I've been to the doctor with similar pains and he has seen no ear infection. My neurologist once thought it was from lack of sleep. But then I really wasn't getting sleep, now I think I am. However I am always sleepy and want to nap during the day.

Well this is my personal and not a medical opinion

But I think that yes, sleep deprivation and depression can lead to aches, pains, and all other manner of irritating thing. Have you found that you feel better when you are not in this place? Do you do anything to remedy or treat the depression outside of medication?

One Love,

Stephanie

I

have to agree with Stephanie in some things she said.
No sleep or lack of correct sleep can do some pretty nasty things to our bodies. Also depending on where you live like me and the seasons change so fast. Temp drop is a huge one.
Sleep deprevation plus work load can equal disater to some people.
What your describing is what I was like going to nursing school. I would awake at night then go back to sleep to have to be up in 2 hrs. Till I got the right med to help me sleep through. Then I would have to get up 2hrs before leaving take my ultram (non narcotic med) coffee , shower and sit at the computer and chill my brain before I left for anywhere. But somedays I had to have someone drive me because I needed a lortab or something.
BUT I also have fibromyalgia. Have you been diagnosed with any type of myalgia before??? (meaning worn, out, tired, flu like without the crap that goes along)
I found amtriptyline to work very well for a deep sleep. I took it at 8:30pm to be asleep by 9pm and recorded any good show I did not want to miss. Sleepy Sleepy Sleepy Sleepy

I'm curious to find out what you feel like on the weekends??? Is there a difference when you don't have to get up for a certain reason??? Confused

Take care
