Finding a way to sleep...?

I am looking for advice on sleeping positions and/or padding that might help with neck and arm pain. I have a herniated disc at the base of my neck (C-7/T-1) which sends pain up and down my neck and left arm. I can't lie flat on my back because my left shoulder needs more support, but when I lie on my side the weight of my left arm pulls on my neck and shoulder... I could describe all the details but I think you get the picture.
Are there any tips or tricks with pillows or bolsters that help you get a decent night's sleep?

Thanks,
Liz
