My doctor knows all the meds I take and that I have mild MVP, but I was wondering if taking pain meds for almost two years makes a difference under this type of sedation?
What was your experience with it?
Any info on it? And is it generally safe?
Thanks
According to an MRI in 2008 I had 2mm and 3mm herniations at C5/C6 and C6/ C7. Both having mild to slight central stenosis. Disc desiccation without protrusion at T1-2.
On my Xray from 2008 it said: Very minimal hypertrophic uncovertebral joints at C5-C6. Minimal osteophyte formations and foraminal impingement at C5/C6.
Sorry, I know nothing about Twilight Sedation.
All I know about is the "Twilight Zone" which my current cocktail of meds seems to keep me in.
I am interested in hearing more about it though.

Sorry, had to take the email off my signature because of the spam (bob@mypharmajobs.com this means you and I hope every spider and bot causes you to get spammed until your email is smoking!), so if you need additional help with photos I will not hesitate to provide it though via PM.
Also, please do not ask for assistance reading your MRI report, I am NOT a doctor!

C3-C4-C5-C6 bulging with stenosis, L5-S1 annular tear and bulge, L3-L4-L5-S1 facet joint syndrome, OA: nothing severe enough to cause problems. Multiple MRIs, EMG & NCS tests, lumbar ESI's, facet injections, medial branch block injections, RF rhizotomy L3-L4-L5, discogram. Scheduled for LP mid October.
Now be a good boy and swallow all these pretty pills..... Ibuprofen, Valium, Baclofen, Avinza. Vicodin & Tramadol for BT pain.
Yeah I believe so.

Hello -
This variety of IV sedation is very similar to what's used by Oral Surgeon's when removing wisdom teeth...so if you've had that done, it's very much the same.
I would STRONGLY recommend allowing yourself to be sedated for ESI's or SI Joint injections...unlike what I did yesterday, trying to go without sedation for the bi-lateral SI Joint injections that I had done. That was a big mistake and even the Doc was wondering why I didn't have it...I guess I just wanted to see what it was like under "local" anesthetic only.
When having a procedure done (spinal injections in this case) under sedation, you'll not feel any pain as the procedure's being performed and you'll not remember much about anything immediately proceeding or following it...that's why it's a requirement to have an adult driver with you to take you home afterwards.
You'll be glad you went the "sedation" route, and doing so will also be a benefit when considering future spinal injections...since you won't have any bad memories of previous ones.
Take care, best wishes!
Jeff
