*scared* Monday is my first cervical epidural...

Should I be extremely worried? So far my neurologist, PM doc, psychatrist, and PT doctor don't seem extremely worried for me about this procedure.

I'm having it done in the hospital under twilight sedation. For disc C5/C6 and I think also C6/C7.

My neurologist said there is a risk that I could have temporary paralysis and that scared me today.

And what is the deal with if you have spinal headache they go back and put your own blood in it to seal off the hole. Will that develop into possible blood clotting problems? Anyone know?

Would like to know your experience and what to expect.

I'm going to talk to the doctor before hand on monday about it, before they do anything.

My neuro said I could start pt again two to three days later.

I just need some comfort , but the truth you know? It is such a tough and anxiety filled decision, but the pain is progressing.

My neurologist doesn't think, but said I might need surgery in the future especially if I can use my hands.

Thanks
BP

_____________

According to an MRI in 2008 I had 2mm and 3mm herniations at C5/C6 and C6/ C7. Both having mild to slight central stenosis. Disc desiccation without protrusion at T1-2.
On my Xray from 2008 it said: Very minimal hypertrophic uncovertebral joints at C5-C6. Minimal osteophyte formations and foraminal impingement at C5/C6.
