Wish me prayers for Epidural today -Updated April 22

I saw my new PM Dr. today and she gave me 3 facet joint injects, 2 S1 injections and an ESI. She was excellent and barely felt any discomfort! I wish I went to her
the first time. She's my 3rd PM Dr. and hopefully the last. My leg and back are feeling better but am icing right now and taking it easy for the next 3 days. 2 more injections the next couple of months. Ahhh finally some relief. Good luck to everyone going for injections and hope you get the same results. Charry

April 22nd

Wishes and prayers please I'm going for my 2nd epidural today at 1115 and hope it's painless as lat time. Thanks

Such great news!

Dear Charry,

I am so happy to hear this. My hubby was just asking if you had your injections yet.

I am so happy for you! Smile

I know the pain you deal with every day and to finally have some relief is just awesome.

Enjoy your pain relief... kick back and let the medication "bathe" away!

Again, I am very happy to hear this news.

Yay

Charry, I'm so happy to hear that you're having some relief from the injections. It's kind of an odd feeling after having pain for so long to have it reduced, isn't it?

Congratulations to you. It's great to hear that injections can be a success. I hope they last a long time.

Take care,
Cath

Thanks Everyone

After having 5 ESIs before with the 2 other PM Doctors this by far was the best Dr. to give them. I also never had SI injections before so this was the best and this is just the test dose of the steroid! I get the whole amount next month. I said after having had the other injections with the 2 other Drs that I would never get injections again but I'm open to getting more because of the relief I've got so far so good.

Jane- good to hear of your experience.

Tammy- hope all goes well with your injections also.

Kelly- I need to get 2 more so hopefully that'll do me for awhile since they always give the ESIs in 3 at one a month providing the first one helped the leg and foot pain as well as the fji's for the back pain. Not ready to go back to work yet though. Thanks for the support Everyone. Charry

HI Charry

Party Party Party Party

What awesome news! You must be on top of the world to have some of your pain alleviated.

Finding the right PM doc is like looking for "Mr. Right" -- got to kiss a log of frogs first!

Enjoy your relief and look forward to hearing about the success of your next injections.

Take care,

Judy

Sharp muscle cramp in affected leg sciatica

I'm getting really sharp pains and cramping in my affected leg and less numbness. I'm hoping that the epidural(caudal) I had 2 weeks ago is awakening that compressed nerve I've had for 2 years. Either that or maybe I'm walking too much as I have been pretty inactive these last few months and I've walked 3 days in a row now. Anyone have this happen? Charry

Hi Charry,

Just saw your post. Happy to see you are happier with your PM doctor and injections went well. I think walking 3 days in a row is too much, would cut that down to at least every other day.

Best to you!

Marianne

Hi Charry...

Not sure if this will help, but I wanted to share something I was told at my consulation appointment with the doctor who performed my recent nerve blocks and injections.

When my tailbone pain started flaring up last August, my body naturally took on different sitting positions and walking positions in an attempt to alleviate my tailbone pain. During my exam, the doctor noticed that my Piriformis and Psoas muscles have been compensating for my tailbone pain.

Since my tailbone pain is now gone, I am starting to sit and walk a lot differently now. Probably, the "normal" way I generally sit and walk. I no longer need to rely on those two muscles, to alleviate my tailbone pain, and they are pretty sore. There are exercises I will be doing to get these muscles back to their normal functioning mode.

Maybe you are experiencing something similar, so I thought I would just toss this out for pondering purposes.

I hope you continue to find relief through your injections and wish you a great weekend.

It might not be a bad idea to start slow with the walks and then gradually increase them to your comfort level.

Take good care,

Tammy Smile

I'm still doing well

I have to say that my pain level is down to 3-4 down from 6-7 now. I can hardly wait for next month's injections to hopefully feel even better. I never got the same relief from my first set of injections 2 and 1 year ago so maybe time is healing my back. I can't say if surgery would of been the answer for me since I've had a bad back and leg but of course I was never offered surgery for my herniated disc. And now that it's not seen on the MRI I'm hoping the injections will help heal the DDD so I can get back to work.

I'm being forced to resign my job to collect my work pension as normally is what the LTD Insurance asks. I don't mind anymore if I get better I can always find another job. There goes my retirement party though at work. I have to go next month to clean out my locker and say my good-byes then. Take care and thanks for your support. Charry

I'm glad you're still doing well. Hopefully the next one will be even better.
I'm sorry you have to resign your job. I know how hard that must be for you. If there's anything I can do for you or if you just want to talk, I'm here. You're always here with help and support for me and I want to do the same.
Take care and have a good evening.

Charry, sorry

you were forced to retire. I was too. And I hated it! But learned to deal with it. And now I'm just fine with it. But I sure hated being told what to do!
Good luck, Jim
