I had back surgery march 24,2009 and about a
month later my right leg started vibrating really
bad and horrible pains in my thigh appeared. I went
to the doctor a week earlier than scheduled. He wa
very upset and acted like it was my fault. rHe had me
go for another M.R.I. Looking for blood clots.
No clots were found and was placed on steroids for one
week. They helped while I was on them and a few days
later the pain and vibrating returned.
I go back in two weeks. I have no idea what he will
say or advise.I am on pain pills.

I had the vibrating and buzzing for a while also after my surgery. I had a Laminectomy, Foraminotomy, and Facetectomy at L5 S1, for spinal stenosis, and had a severe compression at S1. I am just about 5 months out from my surgery, and still have lots of ups and downs! Try to walk, small walks at a time, and try to remain positive. It took some time, but the Dr. said the buzzing was nerve regeneration, and in time it would go away, and it did. It just took time. I still get pins and needles, especially if I overdo things, but they are getting better with time. "TIME" seems to be the canned word for the Dr's.!! I can only speak from my own experience, so any concerns you have, address your Dr. ASAP! Hope you feel better soon, and what was your surgery? I do not have any hardware. sweetpotatoe57
I call them zappers, the Dr said the nerve root may take up to a year or longer to heal .I'm only nine days out from a microD to decompress L4/5 nerve root due from spinal stenosis and ddd but walks and anti inflamatories really are helping me so I hope u the best and get well soon
