Welcome to the board ~

I'm sorry no one has responded to your post. I guess you are experiencing something that no one has an explanation for. I'm sorry you have a number of issues with your back. I can only guess that you used muscles all along your spine that you do not normally stress, and they are protesting.

Stenosis can cause severe pain in your lower limbs. I really cannot explain why you're having trouble holding your head up. Have you called your doctor to report this? He may want to also scan your cervical spine or take a MRI of your whole spine to see if there are more problems up there.

Please keep posting with your comments and questions. People are usually more responsive!

Hope you get some answers soon.
xx Gwennie

Hi, I believe we have simular health issues. At 49 I was diagnosed with Severe Spinal Stenosis, DDD, and Ostioarthritis. My Neurosurgeon told me he cannot understand why I have the back of a 70 year old! Do you have any leg pain or lower back pain? My leg pain is dibilitating and is getting much worse lately. I will be going in for a Laminectomy in less than 4 weeks and although I am very nervous about the whole thing I can hardly wait. I want my life back. I do not have trouble holding my head up but cannot stand for any length of time and walking is very painful and getting worse every day. Are you on any medication other than sleeping pills? Again welcome and you will find this site and the people on here very helpful.

hi suds

Although I have no opinion as to why you are having weakness in your neck I'm with you on the back and leg pain. Just wanted to know my good karma thoughts are with you.

Sounds like you and I have a lot in common, as I'm only 53, and I have all of the same problems as you, with my back, and I'm suffering with a severe case of nerve pain in my Right hip, that's radiating down the back of my thigh, and in the front of my hip, down the front of my thigh, following my femur. I borrowed my brother in laws T.E.N.S. unit to help with the pain, along with the lortab, and 600 mg of neurontin, and this is the worse pain I have ever had, and I had a lot of pain. I worked very hard industrial labor type work at a major tire maker. I worked their for 33+ years before a final disabling Workers comp left knee injury. I had 6 knee surgeries and 2 shoulder surgeries, 1 right elbow surgery, in my 33 years there. I had a lot of back, and neck pain for last 10 years that I worked there, but I never had any idea that my back was as bad as it was until I started having a stabing pain in my lower thoriac region. So I went to my Family Doc. and he sent my for x-rays, and said he needed me to have a MRI, to help him be sure of his diagnosis, and much to his, and my surprise, I was told I have 5 herniated, and bulging disc in my back. 2 in my neck, 2 in my lower thoriac, and L3-L4, and L4-L5, along with servere Degenatrive Disc Disease, in my entire spinal column, and severe stenosis in Lower Lumbar region, and lower cervical region in my neck, along with servere degenatrive osteoarthritis all over. I have been disabled due to the Workers Comp. Left knee injury, since Feb 1 2006, and retired from my job in Feb 1 2007.
I still feel blessed to be alive. I'm one of the worship leaders at my church, and so far I've been able to play my guitar, and stand to sing in the choir, but this siatic nerve, is making it very hard for me to get up the steps up to the platform.
I'll be praying for y'all, and I'd appreciate your prayers for me.
Randy.
p.s. I have been taken the pain meds, and the neurontin for a while before I ever got the siatica, and it hardly even help with the pain. Anything y'all can share to help with the coping with this pain, along with what might help to eliviate it, which is probably wishful thinking. LOL I would greatly appreciate your help and insight.
Randy
