Athlete with herniated disc

I am 18 years old and I am an aspiring athlete. A few months ago I was diagnosed with an L-5 S1 herniated disc. I am looking for opinions on treatment options. I have done the physical therapy and the pain is very managable, but the problem is, is that I am going to be a division 1 baseball player next year. They have incredibly intense schedules of weightlifting and I need to be healthy because I dont want to have to suffer, because this is my dream. Please let me know what you would believe to be the best option. I just want to be pain free and have.my normal life back Sad

Welcome

First let me say welcome to spine-health. What kind of doctor are are you seeing for the herniation? You might want to hook up with a sports medicine doctor such as physiatrist whom can get you back on your feet. Most definite here is when the doctor you choose understands your wishes to get back to your strength level and your need to play baseball. Your school might even have the appropriate doctor whom should be treating you. Good luck and keep us posted.

I saw a normal family

I saw a normal family doctor, who assessed me and gave me mri's. The result was a herniated disc. I am curious what your opinion would be on what my best option would be? I'm trying to be the best athlete i can be, is there any treatment that I will see very good results and possible a full heal?
