Yes

Hi, I've lost a total of about 15 lbs Pre and post surgery. I was not heavy to start with, so it's not necessarily good and it was unplanned. I've had a change of smell and taste that has been challenging.

taste buds

I've been under general anesthesia 10 times and my taste buds work like normal. The first couple of months not so much, but that could also be due more to medication than anesthesia. After a couple of months things all go back to normal. I wouldn't set too much stock in the taste bud things.

33yo mom of two. My surgical history...preadolescence scoliosis, kyphosis, and a hot mess.... 5 spine surgeries and lots of items added I wasn't born with (titanium, peek, surgical steel). Guess cremation is out. TSA loves me.

Taste change shouldn't be permenant

Hi, I haven't heard anywhere that change in taste and smell is permanent, I sure hope it's not! I'm only 3 weeks out from surgery so I don't think it's unusual either but I don't think this is a good time to try to lose weight. It takes extra calories just to heal.
