Hi im Tracy 45 from Blackpool UK.
I hope ive posted in the correct place as im new to the forum.
I had a spinal fusion of my 3 lowest vertebrae and nerve root decompression left leg 13 weeks ago.
Since surgery I have had pain in my right lower leg and foot, and kept being told its inflammed nerves and will settle. At about 8 weeks I did start to feel more positive about my recovery and slowly increased my walking. However I am now 13 weeks and for the last couple of weeks my foot pain has dramatically increased making it excrutiating most of the time particularly during the smallest of walks. My lower leg remains very sore as well.
I had a CT scan and saw the Registrar yesterday for a review. My CT scan doesnt show any problems and I was told that there was no obvious reason for my pain.
I take Oxycodone 10mg twice, Pregablin 150mg twice daily and Paracetamol as my pain relief.
I am a nurse and cant work or drive and feel very low.
Can anyone offer any advice or let me know if you suffer the same post operative complications. I do call it a complication because I had no pain in my right foot or leg prior to surgery.
I havent started physiotherapy yet as the hospital have messed me around, but do hope to start soon. A nerve conduction test has been requested for me as well.
Its all so frustrating because my back pain is 80% better than before surgery.
Thank you for listening x
