I'm seventeen. I had a spinal fusion on my thoracic 4 years ago. They put in two titanium rods, and some pedicle screws. I have been having weird back pain for about a week and I was just wondering what it feels like when a screw falls out, I think I'm being paranoid, but I just thought I'de check because my doctor said that was a possibility. At first it hurt whenever I moved, and then it went away for a while, and I just tried large motions again for the first time since it stopped hurting, and I got a burning pain where I had my surgery. Thanks for any input!
x2 on this, this sound very similar to something im experiencing. i felt a weird pop in my back followed by burning pain and pressure in my chest. i also felt a dripping sensation in my back once or twice. it just happened yesterday to me and now as im laying down it feels like my spine in between my shoulder blades is being pinched painfully.
can anyone weigh in on our pain?
the best thing to do would be to see your doctors, as neither sound "normal" to me. It may be nothing and you've just pulled a muscle or something but it's better not to take the risk and get it checked out.
Matt why did you have a fusion at such a young age? Did you have an accident?
Maybe a bit more information on the levels that were fused and what's been going on medically will help others give a better response than mine.
