Cervical Radiculopathy Definition

Cervical radiculopathy is caused by the compression and irritation of a spinal nerve root in the neck. It is typically caused by a cervical disc herniation or prolapse of an intervertebral disc from its normal position in the cervical spine. Typical symptoms include arm pain, numbness and/or tingling in the arm and/or extending into the hand and fingers. The specific neurological symptoms depend on which nerve in the cervical spine is affected.
