Chiropractic Equipment for Patient Treatment

In some regards, the chiropractor's hands are his or her main piece of chiropractic equipment when treating back pain, neck pain and other symptoms related to the spine. Doctors of chiropractic are highly skilled at using their hands not only to provide chiropractic manipulations and adjustments but to determine through a series of touching techniques (called palpations) where there is vertebral subluxation and the need for readjustment.

Besides using their hands and chiropractic tables when applying chiropractic adjustments, chiropractors may also utilize spring-loaded adjustments to perform manipulations. Some chiropractors may also incorporate various types of equipment (physical modalities) as part of their chiropractic care. Just some examples of this chiropractic equipment may include ultrasound, electrical stimulation, traction units and spinal decompression tables.
