Oh wow Teresa I am just now seeing this post!!! So you are more than a wk post surgery now I sure do hope you are doing ok! Message me when you are feeling able! I can't wait to hear everything. I am feeling exactly like u just said ...barely sleeping, pain is progressing, legs are becoming a problem so that tells me something more has happened. I am never put of pain anymore and trying to exist on 2 tramadol a day...might as well be eating candy. Both hands have more finger numbness and yes I'm so over this too! I. Just a hot mess!

  • I wont lie having anterior revision of C 4-7 & Posterior C3-7 Laminectomy all at once waa very painful. But my surgery was 1/20/18 lasted from 730am until 230pm because the condition of my neck waa worse than thought. My doc feels good about my progress.  My family said the long surgery was scary but my 2 1/2 hrs in recovery was alot worse bc they got no updates. The pain and massive swelling delayed my release from recovery. I dont remember much from the 1st day except nurse offering me a tramadol for pain...i SAID IS THIS A JOKE. SOMEONE NEEDS TO CALL MY DOCTOR AND GRT ME MEDICINE ORDERED. SEEMED LIKE FOREVER BEFORE I GOT RELIEF BUT MY HUSBAND SAID I DOZED ALOT SO IT WASNT AS LONG AS I THOUGHT.

Im 3 weeks post op and actually doing pretty good. Fatigued by simple tasks, even a shower that feels wonderful is exhausting.. Very dependent on my husband  and he has been my rock for 28 years.

Hope everyone is doing well! Sorry for such a delay posting update but just havent been up to computer or phone.

I dont regret having this done ( although I didn't really have much of a choice) Im focusing on healing and following my post op instructions. No picnic but any improvement is progress and one step forward

  • Sorry to hear about all the failures! I to had a failed fusion ( Sept 2014) ACDF C-5 through C-7. Surgeon is waiting for the hardware to start failing before he does a posterior fusion of C-4 through C8 with the adjacent Disk showing issues. Psuedoarthrosis by medical terms means “ false joint”., and usually found by X-ray showing flexion on the plates or screws or lucency on the end plates during a MRI or CT. Trust me, I’m not looking forward to this either!

So glad to hear from you and so glad to hear you are feeling ok. So do you feel like it's more stable in there now and maybe like some of the pain you had before this surgery is gone and just have surgery pain?

Any advice for me? Things u didn't know and now do? I'm so glad I'm not going to have to do the anterior part like u had to...at least that isn't the plan right now anyway and I guess that could change. I'm shooting for mid March for surgery unless it gets rushed up emergency.
