Lower, radiating back pain and frequent but slow urination

Hi all, I wonder if anyone has this combination of symptoms: an onset of lower back pain, radiating to the legs and feet, but combined with frequent urinating, with a poor flow and the feeling of not having completely emptied the bladder. There appears to be a very clear link between the two symptoms, as they come and go together. Could a pinched or irritated nerve in the lower back cause this urinating problem? Blood tests came back with normal prostate and kidney values.
