Spine-Health Site Announcements
Forum Help, Troubleshooting, Suggestions -How to use the Forums
Spine-Health Site Announcements -Keep Current on new site wide items

Anytime you sign up for an online forum, you are not totally sure what to expect.
You hope to start right in and get the information you are looking for. Sometimes its not all that easy. Many sites set up strict rules as to how new members can make posts. You wont see this here. This site is geared to help all members, new members, old members, returning members. Everyone here shares a common bond that you will not generally find on other online forums.

Before you make your first post, I strongly suggest using the Search facility. Try to see if you can find answers to your questions
even before you start. If you don't find what you are looking for then its time to make that first post.

Making that first post can be hard. What I would like to do is help you with some basics that will make your post more effective so that the rest of the member community can offer assistance. Here are some basics that would be good to see in your initial post:

- Your current Medical condition - Formal Diagnosed problems would be best
- The diagnostic tests that you have had. CT/Scan, MRI, EMG, Myleogram, etc
- The results of the above tests
- The medications that you are currently on
- How long you have been having this problem, when did it start, do you know why, etc
- What set of doctors are you currently seeing? ie: PCP, Chiropractor, Neurosurgeon, Neurologist, Pain Mgt Specialist, etc

The more information you can provide in your initial post the better types of responses you will get. Please also keep in mind your audience. Most of the community here are chronic pain sufferers, so they are not new to dealing with pain. Pain levels can always be subjective, because no two people feel pain the same way. But there are standards that the medical field uses.
Anytime, the pain level reaches the 8 mark and higher, is the time for you to seek professional help, the emergency room and not try to deal with on your own.

Everyone here is eager to help all new members. To help get that help, it is important to provide as much information as you can, we can understand the emotions, because that is part of chronic pain.
Please also be patient. If you make your first post and you do not receive a response within the first couple of hours or even a day, do not make another post stating the same thing.
Once you become familiar with the structure of these forums, you will find out which category is the best place to make your follow on posts.

Please always remember that the information you receive from the members at Spine-Health should NEVER be
considered as formal medical advise. Member's information is valuable, but it is from their own personal experiences. You should always consult with your doctor(s) when you need formal medical adise.

Spine-Health is a fantastic site that offers much more than the patient forums. But above that, it provides an environment, where you can reach out to other members and talk about our situation.
