New Problem - And Terrified

I am not new to having pain down my back. Especially lower and between my shoulder blades. The occasional diagnosis of slightly bulging discs or pinched nerves sort of thing.

Now, however, I wound up in the ER due to my left hand, arm, shoulder, neck, and behind my left eye simply... numb feeling. As someone who suffers panic attacks I ignored this for the first few days, assuming that it might merely be anxiety for a protracted period. Then the pain began, days after the numbness, and I found my way to the emergency room.

Now the numbness remains, a sensation that seems to come and go in waves, the occasional 'tearing' pain that radiates down through my shoulder blade and into my hand, and honestly terror. My body feels like it's two separate people having been stitched together at times, and while the ER told me that there was no major disc or cord issues... that doesn't really help.

Only managed to see my PCP thus far, as the Neurosurgeon here in this area is apparently booked solid for about a month... and honestly I feel so absolutely alone in all of this... thus here I am. Half the time I feel like I am going to die soon, the other half I am in pain. I know, logically, that this is not going to kill me. The head full of pressure, alien sensations, and pain are not fatal... but it doesn't help.

I will keep reading for ways to cope.

  • Hi DoomRabbit

    Welcome to Spine-health

I cannot work out from your post, if ER ordered an MRI and their diagnosis came from that or just examination?

You have come to a good place to read other peoples experiences and have access to other articles and videos etc.

I have added two links below to help new members with information and these also contain the forum rules.  There is lots of material to research that will give you the power of knowledge.

    Welcome to Spine Health
