Michael Bresee

hey SH - got an email tonight from the hospital my back doc does his spine surgery at stating I have an upcoming appointment.  This surgery will be a somewhat complicated surgery, having a fusion of L3&L4 to existing fusionof L5-S1 back in 2012.  Also have a 1/2 baseball size symptomatic perineural cyst that has wrapped itself around my spine nerve roots and remove a catheter from a pain pump I had removed in June of 2017.  Hopefully after this myself and my family can get our life back, Ive been bedridden since having the pump removed, have lost my job right before Christmas, lost our car at Christmas time, lost our house basically lost everything with no money coming in.  We had to move in with Family, my kids had to change schools in the middle of year...that’s what makes it hard for me, how hard my kids life has gotten because of my pain.  The last 3-4 weeks my pain has been uncontrollable, Monday, my spinal migraines returned due to leaking spinal fluid again from the catheter.  Really hoping no more 1 step forward, 4 steps back.  Had C5-C7 fused on Halloween 2017.  I’m hoping the doc’s office tried to call me but couldn’t get thru because our phones are off.  Anyway, please lord let this surgery go well. Sorry for the long story ladies & gentleman, have had so much happen, putting a lot on this surgery and it’s success.

  • Michael, through the years people have always said good luck on my surgeries and it always aggravated the hell out of me. I know they mean well and I've always be gracious about it but my surgeon isn't playing poker he's working on my spine. So I will say to you I hope your surgeon is a highly Skilled competent surgeon and you end up with the best possible outcome you can get. Here's to a brighter future.

  • @Sandra - I have a follow up appt with my doc this coming Wednesday to discuss surgery and all the particulars.  I will sign up there, that is a promise.

@martymar - thankfully I do have a highly skilled ortho doc that specializes in the spine.  I know what you mean, Thank you for the well wishes.  He performed a cervical fusion back on Halloween and did a great job.  I’m a little frustrated because I had an MRI today which I just made a post about and not sure what they gave me for pictures.  Anywho, the pain is back to being pretty hard to handle bending over causes me to feel like a truck is running over my hips, lower back and buttocks.  I’m beyond ready for relief and completion of this surgery!  Again, thanks for the well wishes.
