Osteoporosis - again

Sorry, I couldn't post a reply to my original posts.  Who knows?

Thanks for all your comments. My bone density showed osteoporosis not osteopenia. I took bonova for 5 years and now taking a medication holiday it’s called.  I go to my dr in two weeks and she will probably order a bone density test.  I take calcium and Vit D and try to go outside every da.

I have not been active for several years now due to the pain. I try try as much as I can. I have done strenght training since I was 24, but can only do minimal weights and only the air walker at the gym for 30 min. Walking and standing are very painful. I have a large bag that I tote my lumbar pillow in! I’ve done Pilates and physical therapy without relief

The  orthopedic surgeon told me no surgery. I guess I could go for another opinion like a neurosurgeon or spine specialist  I can’t have surgery now bc my parents are elderly and my daughter is getting married within the next two years.

That being said? I look at this forum for other people stories and encouragement  I really want surgery to get some pain relief but dont  want to make things worse either  I remember Wlady saying her the dr told her husband he could expect a wheelchair and that scares me.

Meg@56, could you tell me the degrees of your curve?

Thanks to the people who have noted pain relief.  very encouraging.
