I'm having surgery tomorrow to relieve pinched nerves in my L4 L5 region by having part of my disc cut out and I am wondering what painkillers I'll be on from the moment I wake up.
I've been told that I'll be put on some but they didn't tell me what medication when I asked.
I'm currently on 900mg of gabepentin a day (which isn't strong enough to manage my pain currently) and am wondering what I'll be given? Have any of you been through surgery before?
Drugs like Tramadol make me feel really sick so that's eliminated. I was asked in my pre-op assessment if I do drugs, I've occasionally done drugs like speed and cocaine on social events but I thought that was just asked in case you're a junkie which I'm not so I said I've never done drugs before to them. Will it matter that I lied? No drugs will be in my system, I last dabbled in 2017 lol.
Just wondering really. I don't want to be fobbed off with weak opids like coedine for example. I'm hoping for morphine or something like it, would that be possible or am I expecting too much? I definitely won't ask for morphine by name as then I for sure won't get it.
