Hi, I have L5-S1 Facet pain (chronic for 5 years) with some pain in the 2 disks above that. My MRI said Facet hypertrophy. I have had a cortisone shot (that determined the pain was in the facet joints) and to Radio Frequency Ablations in those areas in the disks. These procedures have worn off (as expected) and I did get relief for about 4-5 months each time. I want a permanent fix. Doing RF ablations I think is like putting a bandaid on a wound. If I do stem cells (taken from my own hip and injected into my facets) will that permanently heal me for life? My pain management doctor has recommended this to me but it is VERY expensive. Please let me know your thoughts! Thanks
