Pain after 2 years post op

my doctors fused me from t4 to l2 just under 2 years ago. My pain management was fine up until recently. About 1 year in we realised that one of the screws had become twisted and whilst the doctor did propose another surgery, as I had little pain I declined. However, recently I have had lots of lower back pain which is like a dull ache( my lower back is Still slightly curved)

Any reasons why this could be? It’s beginning to feel unbearable and I can’t get another appointment for 2 months.

Also, while this is not relevant I thought I’d ask, if the hardware ever got removed would your back begin to curve again? I always get confused.

Is it hurting below your bottom ribs? If it were me i would want to make sure with an xray that my lumbar spine below l2 wasnt moving in a way it shouldnt.  I am sorry you are having more pain.  Wheres the bent screw? Is it where you have pain? Of course your dr will know best....

If you had bone grafts with your original fusion and those have grown and fused successfully them removing the hardware should not make a difference and it should not move. But if there was no graft or it didnt grow then it could move again.

    Hope this helps...
