Finding a spine doctor in kaiser WA

My health insurer is kaiser in wa state. Does anyone know if they have their own doctor specializing in back pain like herniated disc, or is this contracted out to other hospital?

I once asked my primary care doctor in kaiser for a referral to a spine doctor, but he did not. Instead, he wanted to treat my back pain himself. In kaiser, patients can make appointments with any in-house specialist. However, I looked in their doctor's directory and could not find any spine or back pain specialist. The closest I found are orthopedic surgeons, or nerosurgeons without specific spine related credentials.

My thought is, even if they don't have an in-house certified spine specialist, some doctors must be better at this than my primary care doctor. If you happened to have the same insurance in WA and have been treated by a doctor who you feel is good with treating spine issues, I would like to know the doctor's name.

  • I don’t think it’s permitted to post doctor’s names or facility names on this forum. Might be a rule violation.

Your best bet is to google “rate md’s” and at that site search for a spine specialist using your city and state.
