back surgery/hardware

I have had two surgeries and the first I was in a car accident and shattered my lumbar and had to have it fused along with fracturing my thorasic

I also had hardware bars with pedicle screws then I broke a screw and had the second surgery and longer bars installed. I am now in constant pain and feel as if I am carrying fifty pounds of weight on me I am only fifty and want to have the bars removed. Has anyone reversed their surgery and had hardware taken out on this platform?

Please let me know I'm almost desperate... I have had the conversation with my surgeon assist and she said she wouldn't do it but its been a year and a half I should be healed by now.

    welcome to spine-health

you have had a lot of surgery at a number of levels and repeat surgery.

your surgeon may have other reasons for not removing hardware other than fusion.

please remember that your injury could be very different to other members on this site that may have had hardware removed and it is best to take the advice of your medical surgeon.

recovery can be a long and frustrating process.  we have a number of members on here that post about their multi level fusions and experiences.

i have added two links below to help new members with information and these also contain the forum rules.  there is lots of material to research on spine-health that will give you the power of knowledge.

    welcome to spine health
