I go for heavy-Carb laden pasta with deep flavors

Or big ol sweet rolls..or a big greasy, bun toasted on both sides cheese burger

I just recently got a bottle of a Mexican Brandy that is easy..(dangerously so) drinking..sadly I've never acquired a taste for wine as the headaches are murder..but can do its derivatives..odd

We all live in this small bubble

So I think its ok to treat ourselves to comfort every now and again..

BBQ..just made your imagination smile..didn't I!!!

Or..Broccoli with a drizzle of lime over it..mmmm Broccoli...

    William my list grows and grows

    Now after the heart bypass surgery, I need to be a little more careful, but

    • Real good hot dogs, not the cheap ones, with good ole sauerkraut and a bun
    • Hamburger with bacon, Monterrey jack cheese, hot peppers, pickles and tomato
    • Grilled cheese sandwhich
    • Pizza, an y kind, any type, but hopefully thin crust

    Now some honest food

    • Veal Osso Buco
    • Bolognese sauce with pasta
    • Linguine with Clams (hopefully the Coickles)
    • Skrit or Hanger Steak with mushrooms
    • Rack of Lamb ,seared with a dijon mustard pistachio nt mixture, served with a sow reduction of Zinfandel and fresh rosemary
    • Pasta Fazool (Pasta e Fagioli)  Pasta with Beans
    • Hot Hot Hot Chili made with slow braised cumin coated chuck steak, chopped and made with beans, and et all
    My list could go on and on.... I am basically a FODIE and a WINO  besides being a Spney

    Like William, I do like some specific beverages.   
    Knowing that I am a wine fanatic , I love the red wines of almost any country.   I've been hooked recently on Instagram with other wine fanatics, its GREAT
    France              Cognac or Armanac   Cognac if it came from within the Cognac district of France)

    Greece              Ouzo
    Mexico               Brandy 
    Italy                    Grappa

  • Mmm grilled cheese on a cast iron skillet over a wood fire..real butter on thick,sliced bread and thick cheddar cheese slices..pickle,spear and a. Pop on the side.

    Me and pasta are in a long term relationship..one not picky..thin, thick, flat,round,tubular...but its a relationship..must have good mouth feel and great sauce

    Sea food...amberjack,sword, blacktop shark..seared ahi...shrimp...ahh shrimp..oysters in season..raw...pulpo...salmon.

    Wild game to a point..

    The gameyness translates as a musky unappealing oder...

    Sushi? Why yes..

    Ron..I am a rice aficionado..steamed or boiled..microwaveable is a travesty..with,fresh veggies also steamed with a touch of garlic and salt.

    Being an old road warrior I only got to eat the best truck stop cuisine..HAA! and have missed out on Many many good foods.

    Nothing beats dutch oven baked biscuits with butter

    A good med rare prime steak,rack of ribs

    Did I mention fresh vegetables? Tomatoes..ahhh tomatoes..carrots,taters..lettus and chicken,boiled up into fresh soups

    Philly cheese steaks from Philadelphia

    New York style pizza from a real pizzeria

    My fave guilty eats? Summer,sausage,cheese,and saltines from the deli with grape chasers for,desert.

    • Love Sushi, with plenty of WASABI , but can do without the Sea Ucrhin
    • Wild Ostrich  
    • Baba Ganoush, when you make it yourself with chickpeas, tahani, eggplant
    • Hummus , made from stratch , chickpeas, crushed garlic, cunmin, tahani, lemon juice
    • Homemade Italian style (thin crust, good amount of olive) from your own dough, which Hot Sausage Peppers, Mushrooms

  • Pizza, ice cream, peanut butter . Pretty much anything high in fat and carbs.

  • Sheesh you guys!, 

    I'm a few days into a low carb (high protein & fat) way of eating.... missing those carbs!  Also sweets.

    Truthfully, it's really not that hard-it's just different from the way I usually eat.  I'm eating a lot more cheese & nuts. The more rigid part of this is just two weeks, then there are more choices.  I'm also curious to see if eliminating grains will help reduce inflammation...it does for many people.

    Please do continue...food porn is fun to read!

    Just kidding...

    My diet took a dive and I don't know who paid it off to do so...

    But when I got the sugars I would eat a hand full of grapes..ohh round 10 or so and wait till the sugar hit.,then I wouldn't be hungry for a while...

    Any fruit is n danger of being devoured if it gets in my reach!!

    If it hangs from a tree?? One there..

    Green apples,green grapes,kiwis,peaches,plums,oranges,pummellos,grapefruit,bananas..go go bananas..wait....

    There are even,some little bitty berries of a random tree I have eaten..not dead yet...

    Black berry,blue..cherries..raspberries..omg...

    Cheese cake....butter-pecan ice cream

    You can have chocolate..ugh...


    Bagels that have cinnamon raisin..the whole bag...")

    as long as it don't wiggle too much as I reach to eat it ime ok...

    Memphis B-B-Q, hands down and baby back ribs with a dry rub

    Oysters, crayfish and shrimp po-boys, fried

    Duck gumbo with rice and sweet potatoes

    Ice cream and a batch of homemade cookies

    Homemade bread with butter and honey

    Bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwiches.

    Thick cut french fries 

    Pancakes with sausage and eggs

    Pizza piled high with green peppers, onions, mushrooms, Italian sausage, banana peppers and a ton of mozzarella.

    Chicken and dumplings

    Pasta, cooked any way.

    I only drink water and whole milk in a frosted mug, no alcohol, but I miss my wine.

    Hamburger on a bun with mushrooms sauteed in honey and cheddar cheese.

    Roast cooked in the crock pot with carrots and potatoes.

    Meatloaf with mashed potatoes.

    I cook, we do not eat out, and it always taste so much better.
