Very confused

Hi everyone! On February 5 I had an accident and injured my leg. The injuries weren't so bad but a few days after the accident I started experiencing weird symptoms in the leg.  I would get burning, the feeling of hot bugs running in my leg, a horrible throbbing and tingling along with cramping and a feeling of electric bubbles popping in my leg. Leg became very week and was hypersensitive to touch. The pain kept me up at night and made getting around difficult. I have severe swelling and the leg is pale but will break out in dark patches or redness that included things that looked like pin pricks.  The Dr mentioned rsd as it seemed I had alot of symptoms. Today I had a bone scan and it was normal. I know this pain isn't in my head. Can you have RSD and still have a normal bone scan? Has anyone else had these symptoms and if so what did it turn out to be? I'd appreciate any help because at this point I'm beginning to think I'm crazy and the pain is unbearable

    welcome to spine-health

in your post you talk about your leg but do not mention any treatment or investigative mri on your back.  if you have not had an mri, it may be worth considering that.  some of your symptoms could be related to nerve issues and nerves in your leg generate from your spine.

there are no medical professional on this site and we can only share our own experiences.

i don't think you are crazy at all, you are clearly in a lot of pain, need pain relief  and need help to diagnose what the problem is.

i have added two links below to help new members with information and these also contain the forum rules.  there is lots of material to research on spine-health that will give you the power of knowledge.

    welcome to spine health

  • Hi!

Thanks so much for your reply. An orthopedist that I went to recently mentioned a lumbar MRI so I am waiting for an appointment. She also mentioned compartment syndrome which scares me to death.  The original physiatrist I went to was so sure it was RSD that I had just about excepted that and now to have no answer is rather depressing I'm back at square one and the pain is horrible. Ty for validating that I appreciate it. I also made an appointment with a vascular surgeon as someone had suggested. Unfortunately a lot of times doctors and their offices don't seem terribly concerned with the needs of the patients it's been so frustrating and I just want to feel better. Ty again
