C3-T3

I had fusion because the alternative was waking up some day paralyzed and incontinent because my arthritis was crushing my spinal cord.  I am 68 years old. I was psychotic for 5 days after surgery and had terrible dreams for weeks. It's been 6 months since the posterior surgery and I am now healed enough for PT. It has been an ordeal. In contrast my L3-L5 laminectomy was a walk in the park. Can I expect pain relief without narcotics?
