My husband has a strong bruise like pain on his spine, about where t-3 t-4 is. We have had MRIs for his thoracic, but nothing shows up as odd. He gets the pain when looking down (flexion), and when it is pressed, specifically laying down on his back. Sleeping is a nightmare. I massaged him and tried pushing his muscles and area around his spine. It was only when i pushed directly on spine modules that it hurt.
Male, 42 years old
Pain in Thoracic felt for past 3 years.
No accident/no trauma/no family history
Seen neuosurgeon, orthopedic, spine specialist - all look at MRI and Xray that shows no disc herniation in the Thoracic Region
Had a bulging disc at c5/c6 and c6/c7 replaced with ESP ADR. Doctors assumed pain was referred from c6/c7 region, but symptoms still persist, no relief felt after surgery.
Radiating pain down spine into the thoracic region with neck flexion.
Knife like pain when laying down on back. Feels worse when pushing chest out.
I have used my thumb to push on and around the vertabrae. When I push on the sides of the vertabrae - there is no pain. It is only painful when I push into the actual t3 or t4 (I'm not sure which one it is) vertabrae.
Seems like massage therapy may be aggravating it.
What kind of diagnostic tests have
you had and what were the results
Symptoms are calmed by the medication taken at 9pm, but by 3am, pain comes back and causes him to wake up and not be able to go back to sleep.
