I’m new here. 32 year old health woman. Had fusion surgery when I was 12 for nearly paralyzing scoliosis. I’m fused C2- L2. Over the past 7 years my back has gotten worse. Now I have DDD, stenosis, spondylilosthesis, and “large”herniated disc at L4-5, mild S1 according to my latest MRI in June. Tried epidurals, PT, massage, a chiro won’t touch me because of all my metal, and I’m going downhill fast. I take Percocet 3 times a day which by now only takes away 20% of my pain. My hubby is in the military so my care has been a little delayed in the past month and a half due to a attempted PCS (move) to Panama City and since that base got destroyed we are just getting settled in San Antonio, tx. Before I left I started PT to not avail (it made it worse) and a couple injections which only worked for 7-10 days. My last appt w him he wanted to send me to the surgeon (again) for consult. He said the micro will "possibly" fix the severe pain and numbness in my left leg however still might have pain from the liosthesis. So another fusion might be in my future. Nonetheless I'm scared. Anyone deal with this? Any advice? Im seeing pain management next week. How do I get stronger meds? I don't want it but I'm miserable and been on the percocet for 6 years now. Its not working.
