hi all! I'm new here and happy to be apart of what seems to be a great community based on all the info I've read here. I'm a 31 year old pretty active female with 3 children, I had c5-c6 herniation 3 years back from working too much on my computer with bad posture. I went to pt and healed wonderfully within about 6 wks and have had no issues since then. Fast forward, 2 weeks ago I was sitting at a red light and slammed into by a truck going about 40 mph. Of course, another c5-c6 herniation, this time much more painful, dr says due to the fact that it's a re injury and the fact that trauma caused it and not slowly happening over time. My neck pain and arm weakness and pain is pretty bad this time around. I've been working with a chiro and was just referred to pain management (not sure how I feel about that) I've been bed ridden for 2 weeks now and finally yesterday noticed a tiny bit of improvement. Gp prescribed Valium bc I've been pretty shooken up and sore along with Roboxin and Mobic. I've ordered cbd oil also. I know that Drs won't prescribe meds to help with the acute pain as they used to. Is pain management worth a shot? I live in tx or would go the cannabis route. This is more of a vent as this has been so frustrating, driver had no insurance so I am working with an attorney. Just trying to find relief, any advice is grately appriciated. MRI reads retrolisthesis and 5 mm tan verse x3 mm AP right paracentral disc herniation with new small anterior marginal osteophytes. Disc bulging at c3-4, c4-5 (1mm) so very small. The new injury is actually not as bad on Mri as my old one but hurts so much more. Pain management apt is this coming Monday. I was also told by a friend to try kratom, suggestions, comments, constructive criticism All welcome. best to all
