Micro D L4/5 done yesterday

Procedure complete! All went as planned, 2.5 hours in OR and home 2 hours after that. Tough time coming out of anesthesia (more drugs helped though) and evidently I knee'd the nurse and gave her a black eye (what was she doing down there anyways :o ).

Found it better to be standing/walking last night than it was laying....sitting is just brutal.

Had the follow up today and no infection...next follow up on 9/17.

I'm just sooooo happy I elected to do this...can't get too complacent though.

Special thanks to Chrissy, lo419 and justme for the thoughts, prayers and wishes!

BTW...appears I don't need a raised toilet seat or walker.....the grabber is must!

  • It's wonderful to see that you made it out OK. I'm sure it will be a relief not to have to battle back and forth with the disabling sciatica. I am sending out good thoughts and prayers for a quick recovery.

  • I'm glad you're doing well :)

It's hopefully only up from here!!

Yeahhh, sitting is no fun afterwards. My favorite position is three pillows... two against the wall, one on top of that, and half sitting, half laying. Lol. It's a good support and it's very comfortable :)

Keep me updated :) BTW, I finally got my fusion date... October 16 :( Lol. 7 more weekss ahhhh.
  • Be careful with the sitting! I got "stuck" in a couple office chairs in my house shortly after my microD!

Glad to hear you are doing well.
Keep walking and doing the little exercises they sent home with you!
  • Good news,eh!Forget sitting for more than 10 min,at least for a few weeks.Walk and rest.Don't push it.Patience is the magic word for a good recovery.
    Good luck to you!

    Cheers,G.
