:) Hi everyone!

Hope you are having a good day! I've been having pain in my left arm for over a year and a half. About 4 months ago my DO had MRI done on my neck. She determined I will need ACDF C-3 thru C-7 probably. I had a selective nerve block about a week ago in my C-6 nerve. Positve results came out of that. The pain in my arm went away for about 6 hours.

This morning I woke up with tingling and some numbness in my thumb and two fingers next to it on my left hand. I think its a bit better now, but still there. I'm figuring this is from this whole problem. At C-6 my disc is impinging on the nerve going into my left arm and there is a bone spur.

The only other symptoms I've had all along are the severe left arm pain and it goes into my shoulder blade often.

Is this tingling in fingers common with this problem? I see my surgeon again Sept 29th and my DO mid-september.

Thanks much!

  • Ken , yeah I had the tingling too....still do to a certain extent. So , how are you feeling about the upcoming surgery? I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers my friend....Miki
  • Hi Miki:

Oh, I'm fine with it. I know its necessary. I'm told by others this is the best surgeon I could go to. I'm a bit apprehensive about post-surgery symptoms like golf ball in throat syndrome, and quality of speaking voice. I'm wondering how it will feel to have a hard collar on.

Over all I'm fine with it.

Thanks much for your thoughts and prayers! The tingling in my fingers is annoying but nothing more.

  • Instead of focusing on the discomfort of recovery, focus on how great it will feel to have your neck fixed!

  • I certainly had a problem with pain into my shoulders into my arm eventually. They first thought I just messed up my back, then my shoulders, then they finally figured out by the MRI it was my neck! :?
  • 8) Good idea! Focusing on my neck will be fixed! Thanks!

On another note, one way I deal with problems is playing and listening to good ole Mississipi Delta Blues!

It will certainly help! Its a bit hard with my arm symptoms but I can still play a mean Blues Guitar! LOL.

    Thanks Guys!
