Is there any way to get information about the Bryan cervical disc?

Specifically -

When the FDA will allow it to be used in the US.

Information regarding its success in Europe.

Thanks.

  • The FDA has approved the Prestige Disc in the US - www.prestigedisc.com
A lot of the insurance companies are approving this surgery too.
  • Hi Steve,

Welcome to Spine Health. I found a lot of info on the FDA premarket approval and the testing and a lot of cool info on the disc itself and the trials. I could see why you'd be interested.

The trail went cold though after that, even directly from the FDA website.

If I find anything, I will certainly post it for you.

  • I know you wanted bryan disc info but there is another disc being tested through the FDA. The website is:

    http://www.johnsoncountyspine.com/pages/depuy.php

Hope you can be around one of the areas for the next trial and are eligible!!!! (wish I had been!!)

  • Thanks very much for the feedback. I'm going to the Texas Back Institute (I live almost next door to them) this week and will get an update from them about these devices.

The Bryan and DePuy being circular look so much friendlier! But the Prestige must have a pretty good track record.

rhw62 - Thanks and best wishes on your surgery on the 16th. I put you on my calendar and will be thinking about you.

  • Hi Steveriley1310,

I had DISCOVER disc implanted in July 18. So far so good.
No screw, no drill. No more pain.

Thanks SweetyG for posting the link to help.

    Cheers !
