Freedom of Speech

Freedom of Speech    Over the past 12 years or so, this is something that I have heard many times.   With some problem areas, we have had to make some important and legal decisions on how to address those situations.

I think it is best if I post the Exact Legal definition and how it is applied to all of Veritas-Health  This is directly from the legal department of Veritas-Health

The United States provides its citizens freedom of speech.  However, this right is not absolute and has limitations. One such limitation is that a private company may limit Speech of employees and on their websites.

In the US, the right to free speech applies only when the government attempts to limit what people say.

Freedom of speech does not apply when websites limit what words people can use in comments. In fact, private companies may have a duty to restrict speech if it is discriminatory, harassing or contains threats.

Bottom line, Freedom of Speech does not mean that anyone can say what they want how its said, what they mean, etc.   Part of our role in monitoring Veritas-Health, which is a private company is to ensure that the action of Freedom of Speech is neither abused, overlooked or taken for granted.
