My Far Lateral Microdiscectomy

I am thankful for the posts and I appreciate optimism. I am 3 weeks post far lateral Microdiscectomy, which happens in about 10% and from my understanding, a little rougher to recover.  My current pain is moderate to my low back center, left buttocks, and some in my left thigh. I take 300 mg neurontin at night, and OTC meds during the day. I walk one to two miles a day, which feels good. I feel like I’m at standstill at this point, and I am very anxious to progress. I went from working out at the Y five days a week to nothing which is so frustrating. I injured myself in January doing a box jump and went through months of misdiagnosis. I deal with a lot of woulda, coulda, shoulda. My biggest struggle right now is mental - I constantly worry and I am fearful about recovery and reinjury, and I am often tearful. I loved going to the Y and miss it and my friends there terribly. How do others here deal with their sadness and depression?
