Okay, been suffering from thoracic, neck, lumbar pain forever. Got an MRI and now they are scaring me. I have to have a spinal tap done. I got a copy of the report and I wonder if anyone knows what this means:

Areas of focal fatty degeneration marrow throughout the thoracic vertebra. The thoracic intervertebral discs show significant abnormality.

I have also 2 lesion at T7-8 and the conus medullaris, thus the spinal tap. THey did not mention the above focal fatty stuff, so was wondering what that means? Anyone know?

  • However can you can the doc's office and ask someone there?

Be careful not to jump to any conclusions if you research this on the Internet prior to discussing it with your doc. It may only serve to increase your anxiety.
